Happy New Year! Here’s the first post of 2013 and what a post! The always fantastic The Dead Rose Music Company takes Chaka Khan’s ‘Ain’t Nobody’ under a loving sample-istic treatment, blowing wind up-skirt with his brand new ‘Chaka Can’t’. Red hot and funkadelically groovy!
The Phil thrill is intact, more than ever in fact! Look! It made me rhyme! The Players Union create the opener for last night’s Hot To The Touch on Pure.fm. Holla back girl!
Danes rock. In particular Laid Back. Abroad focus has been mainly on their epic tracks “White Horse” and “Sunshine Reggae”. Fly Away has been my favorite for yonks and it seems Poolside agree. Nice nice nice edit!

Chris says relax!

In 1984 Manuel Göttsching (of Ash Ra Temple/Ashra) released the conceptual krautrock album ‘E2 E4′. The album is an hour long progessive electronic track that is subdivided according to the various parts in the song. Not many records have had such inlfuence. One of the most succesful tracks that borrowed heavily from ‘E2 E4′ is Sueño Latino’s self titled song (The Latin Dream) featuring steaming voice samples from Carolina Damas. No Balearic track has charted like that one did (in 1989).
