Gianfranco Bortolotti created Capella around 1986-1987 and from the get-go he tried to reinvent Italo Disco. With Helyom Halib (which is here presented in the original 12″ extended edition) he took the sound to a completely new level and emerged as a re-creator of the sound of Italy. This gem is from 1987, but still holds up 110 % today! Back in the days they called this Acid House, but for me it fits the Italo bill better. Sharing is caring, böys and gørls!
Back in 1989 when Black Box blasted onto the scene with their hi-nrg Loleatta Holloway (who died March 21 2011) sample bonanza, they took Italy a step further and reinvented what Italo was all about. Acts like 49′ers, Wood Allen, Capella followed, but none could stand next to what Black Box achieved.
German disco connoisseur Satin Jacket went and reworked the old classic, exploring new depths and pitching it down considerably. Fantacular rework! Check it out:
